Tommy is the sort of child who adores western movies and who still wets the bed. Tommy loves her sister Diane very much more than his parents who, in turn, decided to send him away to a boarding school in London. The main character of the book is Tommy Bedford, a very shy guy that in 1959 is only eight years old. I don’t know if it was for the cleverness of the author or of the translator, but The Brave is really a book that can pierce your heart and your soul. I read the Italian version of the book translated by Valentina Zaffagnini titled Solo se avrai coraggio. The latter is the famous author of The Horse Whisperer, the novel from which was drawn the famous movie with Robert Redford. I am speaking about the novel titled The Brave and written by British novelist Nicholas Evans. This is also a book I’ll remember forever for its high meaning, for the plot and for the style of writing. Most modern war flicks have hit theaters with an astounding thud, and Home of the Brave was given a particularly cruel limited release it's $12 million budget went to waste on pennies in revenue.This is the kind of book you would never finish reading. Jackson, Jessica Biel, Christina Ricci, Brian Presley, Chad Michael Murray and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson make up the ensemble drama Home of the Brave, a movie that looks at how soldiers have to deal with adjusting to normal life after returning from the Iraq War. "Home of the Brave" is about hope and courage and the impact of war on both the individuals who fight it and the people close to them. Now, as they return to the United States, four soldiers must face memories of the past as they look towards the future and return to civilian life. The surviving troops suffer both physical and psychological injuries. The unit is ambushed and takes heavy losses. Shortly after learning their unit will soon return home, they are sent on one final humanitarian mission to bring medical supplies to a remote Iraqi village.
